Anyone ever watch Japanese bug fights on Youtube?

There are some creepy bugs out there I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley.

putting two animals in a cage - regardless of genae or type - to watch them fight to them death is a bloodsport in the poorest of tastes. Something only a sadist would watch.

People who hurt animals are well on their way towards becoming something far, far more evil.

I don't want to get on a soapbox here, however I can't help but feel this kind of thing is in the poorest of taste.

Yes, it tells a lot about those who like this kind of show.

I can't help picturing it done with a miniaturized destructo city background.

Humans can be seriously twisted or there never would have been stadiums built to watch gladiators.

You equate looking at a situation which happens to be nearby to you actively running around hoping to see those accidents?

That's quite a reach in order to justify watching people putting living things into intentionally deadly situations for sport.

So I went home for lunch today to find my 4 year old daughter had caught some "pet" bugs and put them in a glass jar. With holes in the lid so they can breathe and some fruit for food of course. None of the bugs were fighting though. Just boring bug behaviour.

I thought of the soap box here and how I should probably tell her that she should let them go so they don't die. I didn't want to get into the "death talk" so I explained that they would be happier if free but she was insistent that she "LOVES" them and wants to keep them. She refuses to let them go. She would be crushed if I let them go. Apparently she is a sadist of the worst order. I will have to wait until she is sleeping and free these poor poor bugs.

    Horrible parenting 101.

I will no longer throw grasshoppers into garden spiders' webs.
But if you want to, it's pretty fun to watch. ;)

If they're in my house, I'm stepping on them.

They'll be on earth much longer than you and I.
