Rat (so many good clones for around $100)
TC Flashback x4 ($150 at PGS now -- presets and tap and modulation)
Boss RV5 (sub $100 used)
Ditto (sub $100)
Some volume pedal (sub $100)

Change the ditto to a carbon copy and this is pretty much my suggestion as well. I'd prefer a BOSS delay to the Flashback, but $150 is a steal for the Flashback x4

This thread just reminds how much I love playing post rock. Sure, a lot of it is formulaic, but it's a formula I like.
Clean
Light od
Fuzz
Od +Fuzz
Od + fuzz + another fuzz
All out mayhem

The post rock secret is that you don't need a looper or volume pedal or fancy delays.

-Any fender amp
-Hall/plate reverb
-Digital delay
-OD

Anything beyond this setup is personal preference.

Too often people lump in ambient or p&w music with Postrock and if you're trying to write music like the bands you listed, stay away from the ambient music scene.

But also.. build your own sound on top of the base effects. Maybe that means some more ambient stuff, or maybe it's more fuzz/distortion.
