    I have a question. Could something like this be mounted in front of a loud speaker, and using the output voltage from the coil into a pre-amp ; for a speaker driven line it effect ?

    Now wait a second, orange has acid, battery has acid, some kinda voltage thing going on there.... where's the produce :drool
    I'm just gonna have to hear this plate speaker....maybe add some plate reverb.

    Don't know about an orange but you can use the acid in an onion to power electronic devices if you soak it in gatorade (electrolytes) for awhile. Somewhere on youtube there is a guy powering his iPod by jamming the USB cable end into a gatorade-soaked onion.

    That's what we would call a "dynamic mic".:D
    Seriously, I've used all sorts of speakers in front of kick drums for lots of awesome sounds.
