I'm looking for a builder to make a S-style, hard-tail, five string baritone guitar. It would be tuned in fifths, CGDAE.

I believe it can be done with mostly off-the-shelf parts, except for the bridge plate, and possibly the neck. What I had in mind:

    - A standard S-style body.
    - A somewhat standard S-style neck, a scale length of 26.5" or 27", 1 5/8" at the nut, but with wider string spacing. On the headstock, only five tuner holes would be drilled.
    - Either standard single-coil pickups with the strings in between the pole-pieces, or a blade pickup.
    - The bridge plate would need to be custom made, having only five holes for the saddles, but standard saddles could be used.

Though ideally, the entire guitar would be made to be a five string guitar (for example, the body made to be proportionally smaller), I'm open to compromise.

Are there any builders you'd recommend I contact for such a project?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Schecter made something similar at one point, cx5 and ax5 I think. I owned two at one point, cool guitars, almost exactly what you described.
