Was just listening to Mood Elevator yesterday. Burning Water made some great music.

Fantastic band! I love the Burning Water/Raging Honkies period in Landau's career. So much amazing music...

Too bad we can't find CDs from the band anymore... I have all of Michael Landau solo albums and Raging Honkies' but can't find Burning Water CDs. One day maybe...

Back in the days of Tower Records, I'd go in there and snap the one copy they ordered up. I've got all of 'em. They weren't easy to find even when they first came out.

Went out to a Cry of Love show years ago when they were touring "Brother" album and when I asked who the opening act was I was told "The Raging Monkees" !

Of course when I got there I found out it was Michael Landau and the Raging Honkies. What I remember most was Abe Laboreal. I haven't seen too many drummers spank the skins like him. He's powerfully musical - if I can say that. I guess Paul Maca found that out.

Abe is a very musical drummer. Among the best in the biz IMO.

Did you see him on the SNL 40th anniversary playing the bass drum behind Miley Cirus?

I first heard Mike's playing on the Burning Water albums and of course Tales From The Bulge. An old guitar teacher played me clips from both and I was blown away. Best strat tones I'd ever heard!

I love the Burning Water records. If you can find it check out the live mini album called Live & Lit - the band didn't like it but it has some great live versions of tunes from their first album.
