Man, this moment is so frustrating for me. I just received last night a brand new pedal from a well-known pedal maker. All I can say is the pedal sounds so freakin' amazing. The reason why I can't say anything more is that this pedal hasn't been publicly announced yet. So why bother with this post in the first place? iDunno. Maybe to make y'all frustrated along with me. :)

I promise to give a complete review when allowed to do so. Now if I can just find that jaw of mine...

    Ok,

Give us a clue. Is it an OD? A distortion of some type? Something else?

By a well known pedal maker do you mean, one of the big guys, or one of the boutique guys... And why are you frustrated, I mean you have one already.

    Keith,

A clue would make it fun!!!!

Anyway, I believe we are in a golden age of pedal design. IMHO, no other time in history has there been so many truly great pedal designs to emerge in one short space of time. Maybe its a kind of pedal natural selection/evolution emerging.

Whatever the pedal is, my GAS has stopped with the Zendrive.

    Cheers,

    DD

Okay, okay. You're right...I have to give you at least a small hint.

So there are several types of effects:
    • Filter
    • Gain
    • Modulation
    • Volume
    • EQ
    • Echo
I will tell you it's one of these three types (listed in alphabetical order):
    • Filter
    • Gain
    • Volume
So I've narrowed it down a bit for you.

Also it's not a Morely or Boss unit. Also it's one color. :)

I only say I'm frustrated because I want to tell y'all about it but have to keep my lips sealed, at least for a bit.

Or is it all three of them in one pedal? What do you use it for? Leads, rhythm, rock, spacejammin'?

It's just one of the three, not all three combined. (Man, that would be something.) You can use it for all each application you mentioned, either by itself or in conjunction with another effect. I'll use it for straight-up rock mostly.
