I haven't seen the movie(s), but based on YouTube clips, my vote would go to either Neil Diamond or David Clayton-Thomas. But let's not do this. You take down the Guess Who and BTO is next. Before you know it, Led Zeppelin is Anne of Green Gables. Where does it end?
There is something about his personality that rubs me the wrong way and I couldn't handle listening to his voice in excessive amounts but his voice and songwriting (and keys & flute playing!) are definitely a part of the Canadian pop-rock foundation and fabric.
Why not just stick to his musical contributions rather than riffing on a physical attribute or personality idiosyncrasy?

I'm not saying that I don't like a lot of what he wrote and sang, but when mentioned I can see a bit of the Ron Burgundy connection. He projected a bit of attitude, be it good or bad. Either it strikes you as funny or not. No biggie.
