Why compare Cummings to a horrible Will Ferrell character from a horrible Will Ferrell film(which is pretty much any Will Ferrell film)?

One rock's great voices. Mustache was kind of porn-star-ish a la Ron Jeremy lol but, hey whatever, it was the 70's. Still a good singer.

I haven't seen the movie(s), but based on YouTube clips, my vote would go to either Neil Diamond or David Clayton-Thomas. But let's not do this. You take down the Guess Who and BTO is next. Before you know it, Led Zeppelin is Anne of Green Gables. Where does it end?

Burton Cummings one of the best voices in Rock evar!!

Pick on someone else, who can't sing and write!

Besides he had an awesome guitar player in Randy Bachmann

There is something about his personality that rubs me the wrong way and I couldn't handle listening to his voice in excessive amounts but his voice and songwriting (and keys & flute playing!) are definitely a part of the Canadian pop-rock foundation and fabric.
Why not just stick to his musical contributions rather than riffing on a physical attribute or personality idiosyncrasy?
This is the Sound Hound Lounge...this thread seems a bit too Pub-by even for the Pub page.

You might have a point.

"Ain't that right, Bri????"

I'm not saying that I don't like a lot of what he wrote and sang, but when mentioned I can see a bit of the Ron Burgundy connection. He projected a bit of attitude, be it good or bad. Either it strikes you as funny or not. No biggie.

"If Gordon were here tonight
and if he dressed himself
and if he played the piano
and if he liked Rod Stewart...
he might sound like this..."

That is a really funny bit and he did it deadpan which makes it even funnier. I dunno, maybe you gotta be Canadian to get it. Brilliant!
