I'm looking to get a 1x12 cabinet and welcome some opinions.

NOTE: I want to put a Scumback in whatever I purchase, so please limit your suggestions to just the cab itself - not the speaker.

I know Stone Age cabs are top notch, but I think it's a bit out of my price range to pick up a new 1x12 from them.

I've owned an Avatar and thought it was very well made - I might go that route for this purchase...

But what I really want to know is if there are any other options that you folks would suggest?

    Educate me please. ;)

What is your price range? Avatar is exceptionally low compared to most makers. I was going to suggest StoneAge or Port City (Wave 1x12). Both are about $350 for an unloaded cab, which seems reasonable to me.

I recently bought a 2x12 from Lopoline and really like it. Quality construction, lots of options, and priced competitively with Avatar.

I saw some Lopoline's on eBay, but wasn't sure of the quality. Have you compared the build quality directly with Avatar any?

Are you going to be still offering them in the future? I hadn't seen this on your website before. Looks like a great idea but can't do anything right now
(other stuff on the way) By the way if I missed it I apologize but was the pine version any different in price?

    Thanks

    Dan

Well, my cab maker, the guy that does the Bogner, CAA, Bad Cat and other amp companies cabs pulled a fade and jerk on my last order, saying he was buried in bigger orders and just can't devote any time to filling my last order. I've got a new cab guy working on a sample cab (same specs, etc.) but he hasn't sent it to me, or brought it over to compare to the ones I have now yet.

So at this point, cabs are on hiatus until I get a decent cab guy to make these again. They're great cabs with lots of versatility, but they're also harder to make than standard cabs, too, so the cab guys hate me...LOL.

As soon as a new cab maker is found to do this, they'll be available again. I'm hoping for late March at this point.

Thanks! A lot of trial and error cabs built before that was finalized, believe me. :jo

Johns unloaded 1x12 is $365. Figure roughly $400 by the time u pay shipping.

Thats Pacific Woodworks right? A ton of companies moved from Mojotone to him a few years ago but Mojotone was the builder for bogner, germino, and a load of others for a while. Maybe check them out.

Wrong, Marvics Music. The shipping on cabs from Mojo to California would be, umm, prohibitive, to say the least. Around $50-60 per cab. Don't really want to add that onto the cost of the cab if I can find someone out here to do it.

Weird. I thought pacific was doing at least the bogner and diezel cabs. Maybe they changed in the last year or something.

I worked with the guy from Marvics for two years. Every time I saw him bring me some cabs, he had Bogner head cabs in his truck to deliver, too. So he's been doing their cabs for at least two years that I know of.
