Given a cabinet that has 1/8" grooves for cabinet string/tolex seams:

Is the cabinet string glued in? If so, what kind of glue and how is it applied?

I'd think glueing would be tricky because of tolex on either side of the groove making squeeze out messy.

If not glued in, how should it be secured?

    Thanks,

    Paul

Usually no glue, use single small staples at the end to keep tension on it. The tension will keep it in place.

No glue. The cabinet string is stretchy and it fits tightly into a 1/8" groove with tolex. You can staple or drill a small hole and crazyglue the string in.Stretch it over the slot and pus it into the groove. You sometimes have to use a roller to push it into the groove. It can be a real pain til you have done a few. Then it's a breeze.
