Calling ABR-1 and Callaham Experts!

How do I remove a Callaham Conversion Stud on a Gibson Les Paul without damaging the nitro finish?

One of them is steady like a rock. Perhaps it is glued in.

I tried by pulling really, really hard and by using the thumb wheel.

Any good advice out there?

hold a soldering iron against it for 10-15 seconds, then thread the thumbwheel on it and pull it out.

Thanks for your immediate reply!

Unfortunately it doesn´t work even after several times.

Then you didn't get it hot enough. The stud has smooth sides, so there's nothing holding it in there but glue.

I finally did it.

You were right, Walter.

My old and trusty 40 Watt soldering iron did it without damaging the stud and/or the finish.

Many, many thanks again for your help, Walter. It´s greatly appreciated!
