Can a RP355 get SRV/Mayer type tones?

Im about to go w/ a modeler. Dont need but about 4 tones for the church band Im playing in. But "my" tone is the Srv neck strat tones, Ive seen many a utube videos and know it can get the higher gain stuff but if it cant get that tone, Im not gonna bother.

It might work using the 65 Twin amp model and the Screamer turned on. It might need some mid-boost in the EQ section, also.

IMHO SRV and Mayer's tones aren't very similar at all personally. That being said if you're looking for that moderate distorted bluesy/funky strat neck tone, check out the 3:13 mark in the below clip (part of my RP500 review) featuring Digitech's TWEED model (also on the RP355). You could of course back the gain down for a bit more clarity.

Best way to find out would be to take your guitar and whatever amp you're going to use to your local store and test it out.

I think 65 Twin model sounds great on RP355. Don't forget to turn off the noise gate, it'll have better attack & dynamic response that way.

Only thing about RP355 is that footswitching is a little weird for getting into different operation modes. I would go 500 or 1000 if I was playing live shows with it.

Oh, 65 Deluxe Reverb model into Twin212 cab combination is also very good for this kinda stuff, I think.
