This a cross section of an adjustable pipe support. The pipe (an 18" schedule 80) is being supported by two 45 degree rotating wheels as shown. It is used to carry the load of the pipe over a distance. A number of these supports are spaced along the length of the pipe (in this case the supports are spaced at 10ft). I need to determine the reaction forces at the wheel face (not the pins holding the wheel) on this pipe support. There is a force of 1710.8 lb going down. The wheels are positioned at a 45 degree angle. I know that the y+ forces have to equal 1710.8lb but I'm not sure how to figure the x forces or the 45 degree forces. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
