can be a real '79 PAF?

    Hi guys, I need your experienced opinion to date that pickups,[​IMG]

    can be a 1979 Gibson real PAF?

    There were no PAFs made in 79.

    they have the pat number etched in the metal but no sticker or inch

    That says "Pat No" on the bottom. That would not be the same as "patent applied for."

    Might be a nice pup but definitely not a PAF.

    Might very well be a T-top - only way to tell is to pull the cover.

    What ARE those? Holes are wrong, lead wire is wrong, solder joints are wrong. Aside from the number(which I can't clearly see), those don't look like Gibson to me. What is the number?

    Ha ha!!! Good job of looking at the forest while the rest of us were down in the pine needles.

    You're right. Everything about those is non-Gibson.

    looks like asian made pickups that came in les paul copies circa the 70s....
