What is the difference between the faded to the regular LP standard pre 2015 and historics like the R7/R8/R9?

I like a LP this year and these have been recommended to me as I like one which is more vintage vibe.

    Thanks

Here's Gibson's description from production back then:
    http://www.gibson.com/files/usa_pdfs/data_lp_faded.pdf

Around '05/07 they sold for $1500 ish and used or clearance for $1100-1200.
They're weren't part the Historic line, but now sellers are charging "R" type prices (most buyers don't realize the original list)
It'd be great if more "production" Gibson products rose in perceived value.... (although "Government" series did this, for some strange reason)

Thin finish, and a personal preference, but I prefer R7, R8, R9, even Standards.
    Try one out though.

Just about all Les Pauls are weight relieved, and have been for over 30 years.

The faded Standards came out around the time that Gibson started making most of the Les Pauls chambered, so that is probably more likely.

they were weight relieved only from 2007 on I believe. I had a 2005 I got at a GC clearance for 900 that was solid. Great guitar.

Gibson Les Pauls have been weight relieved for the most part since 1981.

Your 2005 is weight relieved. It was in late 2006 that they started chambering Les Pauls which lasted a few years and they went back to weight relief on most models.
