hi-

can you help me with this? - I have a link here to the diagram of my old Marshall solid state, which I'm going to use now as a 2x12 cabinet, speakers only. This is the old 1980's Marshall model 5212 solid state.

on the bottom right hand corner of the page is the speaker layout... I can't tell if it means 2x 8 ohm in parallel or series. I've been to some sites that show the differences between parallel and series, but they don't look like these connections..

can someone take a quick look at this for me?

thanks

It's hard for me to read the marking on that schematic, but if you are refering to the two speakers below the "2X12" label in the lower right hand corner they are wired in parallel.

Yep, two x 8 ohm wired in parallel, for a 4 ohm load.

OK thank you-

so an amp would see 4 Ohm?

I'm worried now, because the Amp head I'm going to get will have 4 outputs, for :

Parallel:
0ne jack=1x 8 ohm speaker
or
two jacks= 2x 16 speakers

Series:
one jack=1x 16 ohm speaker
two jacks 2x 8 ohm speakers

so my amp only will see a 4 ohm load in my cabinet. Do I have any solution to this? (Doesn't look like it)

thanks

so then this would be using the output marked

16 Ohm Serial

1x 16 Ohm?

based on the diagram I attached earlier, I'll have to disconnect wires from the speakers and run them a different way, right?

thanks alot
