I want to edit the title on my trade ad but since using the "sold" prefix to say 'trade pending', I now have no edit or delete buttons available to edit the title to say "traded".

    Do not like.

As one who makes every effort to keep such threads updated and accurate, I agree with the OP.

Sorry, but the "Sold" prefix, whether the item was traded or not, should be the one used. Reason is that Alec will be writing some code that will automatically move "sold" items to the correct emporium archive. Having taken a quick look, ity seems that your "sold" ads are in an archive, which would explain why you can't delete or edit. It was that way on the old softwaer also.

I was always able to edit or delete my ad, that's been taken away from me.

Not once they were in the archive. That's not changed.

I never 'archived' anything, always just deleted my thread after the deal was complete.
Always able to edit the title regardless of the status of the deal.
I will not be using the prefixes as they take control away.

We archive them, not you. The closed threads were archived on old TGP, now we will archive the "Sold" ones. There is no 'tak(ing) control away'; you can still delete your own threads if that's what you want to do.

Once you have sold an item and changed the prefix to "Sold", I can't understand why you would need to edit it.

Because there is no "pending" prefix.
Not all deals are so black and white.

Well, you are certainly free to handle your ads any way you see fit but, what you are saying is that you really don't want to use the system that we decided on. That may lead to some issues. We really can't make different systems for different members. Hopefully, you would consider putting your own "Sale Pending" or something else in the title that isn't an official prefix and than can change it to "Sold" once everything is finalized.

Thanks, that's what I intend to do.
Will I still have editing if I use the FSOT prefix?

You have editing capability for any ad, regardless of prefix, until the ad is moved to one of the emporium archives....and that will only happen when you put the Sold prefix into the title.
