Caravan Palace: French electro-swing

Caught these guys on Jools Holland last night, pretty exciting. A French "electro-swing" band, they really bring it. Unfortunately, the BBC makes it hard to watch their videos outside the UK, so I can't find the performances I saw last night, but here's another few:

Totally dig them.

I ran across them--and a host of similar acts--watching shuffling dance clips on YouTube.

Electro Swing is pretty far outside my usual wheelhouse, sho nuff, but it incorporates musical traditions any musician could love.

Actually, the clips that the shuffle devotees post can be pretty entertaining.

My most recent favorite features a couple of random cats, a vacuum cleaner, and a couple of water breaks. Love the sly acknowledgments of the camera, too:
