In an ongoing thread here about difficulties with one small volume, high-priced luthier, I said that I had had good luck buying guitars which were made by well established builders who had sorted out their teething problems and I said I had not had good luck with an early Cardinal Magpie which Sam Evans made for me. Someone asked what the problem was and the discussion about it started to derail the original thread so I asked that any further comments be by PM. Sam PM'ed me and asked me what he could do to make it right. I had already returned it once and the problem wasn't fixed so I was reluctant to go through that again. He told me to name the solution I wanted and he would do it free of charge. He offered to replace the entire body, replace the pickup, redo the neck (which was perfect) - anything to make it right. We wrote back and forth a little and arrived at a solution which I think meets both our needs. Thank you Sam.
