I have had a Carr Rambler for a long time and it seems to be a bit more shrill than normal.

I am running new Winged "C" tubes, new Elsinore speaker.

I have read that a set of TAD power tubes could improve the tone.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Tom

I usually start swapping pre amp and the phase inverter tubes when the amp sounds off. Then check bias.

These are cathode biased....so bias is not necessary, correct??

If you made both changes at same time, the speaker is likely a bigger influence than the tubes, no?
