Didn't he already have to rename an amp because it was too close to something else?

    Anyway, I want a Skylark.

It's amazing how many great sounding designs Steve has come up with. Truly regret trading off my Rambler.

My Rambler will be referenced in my will. It's that good.

Damn.. that's the first time I've heard any clips of this amp, but it's amazing! I think I've found a new obsession!

I'd like a different grill design myself, but I could live with it. I spend most of my time with amps in dark rooms or playing with them behind me anyway!

Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath just yet... The market isn't really flooded with Carr amps. Used Skylark might take a while.

The grill design was inspired by something Billy Gibbons drew on a napkin apparently.

Gibson doesn't own the name anymore and Steve liked the name.

Are the Skylarks shipping in any great quantity at this point?

First ones shipped this past week. You will start seeing them hit dealers now as fast as we can build them

Beautiful tone...12 watts is not going to get it done for me but it does sound gorgeous...

I know they sound great and I would love to consider one but Carr amps...and a few other companies for that matter seem to have an incredible markup on the German market which leave mere mortals like myself out of the picture...

As with other models like the Mercury (8 watts) don't let the 12 watt rating fool you. Steve has been playing out in his two bands with a Skylark. His other amp of choice is a Mercury. It might be 12 watts but its got plenty of muscle to keep most folks more than happy. Hopefully you might be able to get your hands on one Seegs. You might be pleasantly surprised by its fire power.

Personally I'm used to an 88 watt El Moto and I haven't found myself wanting any more output from the Skylark the times I've played it. It is a really fun amp to play.

I received my Skylark this week and have put about 8 to 10 hours on it. I'm pretty amazed that the amp can do so much. I can go from what I would call American clean to rodded, almost Boogie...fringe Brit tones. It sounds great with a full range of Classic Rock that I play. P90's, HB's...great. Throw some RC Booster and a tad of compression on on it and play hard rock. I guess I didn't expect the range that this little amp offers.
It's also friggen loud for 12 watts...must be a very efficient speaker.

I've had a Rambler, and Impala and like this better. I like the Impala allot but got some note ghosting above the 12th fret when applying extra gain. Hope they corrected that, cause I'd like to have another. But, maybe it was isolated to me, and my set up.

Lastly, the attenuator works well, but there is quite a jump from full power to the top range of the attenuator, with no way of dialing in between. If you are a bedroom player it would work well. If you are playing with a band in a small club without micing, it could be an issue.

Looks like the perfect size for a grab and go combo.

@joek86, thanks for filling in. Really helpful. I'm looking at this for bedroom setup and TV volumes. Any more thoughts on the attenuator? I understand its not going to flap my trousers but I really want a high quality amp with a decent attenuator.
