I was wondering when the buzz about this thing was going to start.

It's not on their website, so for those who haven't seen it and care, it reminds me of my 3-channel Dual Rec in a few ways.

The front panel is laid out in 4 blocks of knobs, 3 channels, and one master volume/EQ block. Each channel has Gain/Bass/Mid/Treble controls, (maybe Presence too, can't remember) and switches that change the EQ curve/personality on each channel. Kind of like the Boogie Raw/Vintage/Modern switch, but different. Mix that with separate FX loops, assignable to the channels, choice of 6L6 or EL34's, and a midi in, for $899.00, you got yourself a pretty flexible head.

Only problem is, I have no idea what it sounds like!

Seriously though, I'd be curious to hear what it sounds like, you can't touch it with all those features at that price.

Clips are clips, but as a former two time Carvin amp and one time Carvin guitar owner I'm thinking the clips sound like a modeling amp??? Heavy preamp saturation with a ton of picking noise, some clips with mega effects, and compressed cleans that don't inspire???

    Anyone agree?

I'm not saying it's a bad amp, just so-so clips.

Carvin has a history of horrible clips, I have an MTS and their clips don't even sound like my amp.

When I go home for Christmas I'm literally five minutes away from the Carvin store. I'll definitely check it out then, even though it's WAAAAAAAY too much amp for my needs.

Sounds like a bunch of pissed off yellow jackets in a tin can. Preamp fizz does nothing for me.

Seriously the new clip of the legacy kills the v3 imo if it just had more gain it would be pretty much the sound I'm looking for.

I thought the clips sounded decent! Besides they are just clips. I like a little "fur" in the lead tone sometimes. My JSX it almost too "clean" or "articulate" on the lead channel with little "fur" so to speak.
