cathode bypass caps and negative feedback

    When people change cathode bypass caps, as is presumably done with the Fargen amps "decade switch", is this the same as changing negative feedback? thanks.

    edit: and, is this also the same as the "fat"/"thin" switches seen on some amps?

    Nope. Cathode bypass caps are in the preamp. Negative feedback is part of the power amp section.

    a fat thin switch probably adds or removes a bypass cap...Bypass caps can add gain, but they also control or boost what frequencies are passed to the next stage of the circuit...
