    Sweet memories
    Flashing very quickly by
    Reminding me
And giving me a reason why
    I know that
My goal is more than a thought
    I'll be there
When I teach what I've been taught

"Corrected" my post. Thanks for drawing my attention to it.
I will leave the words - as they are very appropriate and they themselves are the reason I posted them.

I didn't feel a super close bond with Bowie at the time he died, but dove deep into his collection soon after. Sad that such a quest has to be triggered by someone's passing, but it happens. Prior to his death, I knew and liked his famous '70s songs, and was very familiar with the (underrated) Let's Dance album since it was popular when I was a kid, and his work with Tin Machine, and I knew that he had influenced younger artists that I liked. But I have everything now, including his movies over the years. What an icon!

I felt the pain of losing Neil, much harder. I was a huge Rush fan instantly after a friend at school introduced me to Moving Pictures. Limelight and Red Barchetta in particular have been stuck on near infinite repeat in my head since hearing the terrible news. Great memories of growing up with that album, and soon after, I picked up the '70s albums and then later '80s. The last Rush album that I knew backward and forward was Roll the Bones, but I have since ordered the remainder of their catalog and will begin absorbing them fully in 2020. :beer

As a bonus, I am also a drummer and will be learning directly from the Professor. I'd say that Mike Portnoy has been one of my biggest drumming influences to date, and I've always known he is a rabid Peart fan, but there's nothing like learning straight from the SOURCE. Even as a guitarist first, I've always identified the most with Neil in Rush.

    Love me some RUSH!
The passing of a musician or celebrity had never effected me like this. I was actually teary eyed when I heard!
    Thanx for the videos

I stopped paying attention sometime after Power Windows. Too much synths and stuff. I started listened to some of the new stuff the last few days. This is new to me and a fantastic piece of music.

The third video you posted brought back memories of me as a teen playing along with this section of music - the whole first side of the album really. I wanted to get that guitar sound and that bass sound and Neil could make almost anyone want to be a drummer.
