Celestion G12-65 heritage/ EV12L

Anybody tried this combo in a 212 open back??

Those speakers are almost opposites. The EVM 12L is much more efficient and would probably overpower the Celestion to the point that you wouldn't get to hear much of the Celestions benefits. The EVM is cold and sterile by comparison and has little distortion or compression where the Celestion has great compression. The EVM's high end is fairly bright, where the highs of the Celestion has rolled off highs and is very warm.

How about a G12h-30 ?I guess I'll try one of those I know they work absolutly killer with a blue.

G12H-30/G12-65 is a GREAT combo. Though the G12H-30 is more sensitive the G12-65's mids make up for the difference. I wish I could find one speaker that sounded like the two put together. bob

I ran an EV SRO with a G1265 for a few years under a Naylor head in an Avatar open back & loved the combo
