I'm looking for some info on a quad of Celestion G12 80 speakers. The numbers are T 3103 cone number 444. They date to 1981. I'm guessing these are the bass (55hz) version of the G12 80? I've seen other G12 80's but I believe they had the 1777 cone. That was sometime ago so I'm not sure about that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Those are the bass cone versions. I would hold out for the 1777 cones and pass on these.

Thanks for the replies. The speakers are in what I assume is a Marshall 1982B cabinet. The cabinet is in very good shape for 28 years old. The only odd thing is the grill cloth appears to have been changed. It's still black, but it's a thick fuzzy kind of material. Doesn't look stock to me. I'm not sure if I like the speakers or not. I just haven't had enough time to play with them yet. But hey the weekends coming.

I tried such a cab with those early G12-80s (don't know whether they were 444 or 1777 cones) but it was the best Marshall cab I've ever heard. The CL80s are similar to the old G12-80s but not nearly as good !

I have two Rola g12-80's from the 80's that have always been my favorite speakers, and I just got a WGS British Lead 80 for my Deluxe Reverb. I actually like the clone better than the originals.

Big thumbs up on the WGS British lead 80s!
