I'm thinking of getting the G12H30s for my Marshall 4x12 cabinet. Right now, I have 2 G12T75s and 2 Vintage 30s. It was suggested to me the H30s in stead of the T75s are the ****. Any opinions will be appreciated. By the way, I play classic rock and need clean head room as well as overdrive.

    Thanks

I have 75's right now and they are not very good IMO.
I think the 30's would be a major improvement.

I want 30's...have to save some more $ first...

It really depends on the amp. With my JSX the G12h-30's were just a tad too piercing (after break in) for my liking when pushed. With a slightly darker voiced amp they might be perfect.BTW- what dont you like about the sound now?

I used them in my 4x12 and 2x12. I like them better with weber beam blockers to take out the piercing sound you get straight on.

A very warm, smooth, crunchy speaker in a good way.

Will a Weber beam blocker will fit on a Celestion G12H30?

Yeah almost a must with them. Ive got them on mine.:) I also mixed my G12's with much darker Carvins. Still looking for a more efficient dark speaker though.(probably a v12)

2 G12T-75 "X" with 2 G12H anniversary to my ears are still modern sounding (think 80s metal) but added a warmer, punchier, vintage tone that blended well. Splawn used to have some VH lick demos with this speaker configuration and I thought they worked very well together. For a somewhat increased vintage tone I recently went G12M which currently running with the G12H is very nice as well.

Well the G12H30 is a better sounding speaker than the other current production Celestions. I think you'll like them better than either the G12T75 and the V30. I releaded two cabs with Scumback SA12H75 and I personally like those better than the Anniversary G12H30.

Spend less and buy some Eminence Wizards, less money, higher power handling and they sound better. It's Eminence's version of the G12H30 Anniversary.

The G12H30 is a great speaker. It's also a very versatile speaker in that it sounds good with most amps. I would recommend the Avatar Helltone 30's. They are Celestion G12H30's with a bit of break-in time added. At $79 each they are a deal. I use a pair in my Bruno Cowtipper 2x12

They sound even better when you peel the Avatar sticker off and find the Celestion sticker underneath.
