I just loaded my Mojotone '68 Marshall replica 4X12 with four Celestion Heritage G12M 20 watt greenbacks, and I'm VERY impressed to say the least. :dude

Same here. I like these speakers better than most vintage greenbacks I've ever heard. In fact, I won't even go near vintage greenies anymore, now that the heritages are available. :BEER

I have one of each Heritage ( M&H ) in a open back Aiken cab. This is as close to perfection as I have been able to get:AOK

I would also like to try them on there own but doubt they could be much better than this!!!

How does that work out, when the M is, what, 96,97dBs and the H, 100 dB?

    Isn't the H significantly louder ?

The tone of the Heritage is more detailed, and doesn't have that blurry/fuzzy high end that the reissues have.

I had the same concerns before I tried it and I don't normally like to mix speakers. The short answer is no I can't tell which speaker is on which side without looking arround back. Me likey a lot, smooth yet articulate with no mush. Try it you might be surprised like I was, if not its a great excuse to pick up one more of each:D

    I agree,
The more I play them, the more I realize just how awesome they sound.
I used to own my own speaker reconing business back in the early 80's, and am a stickler when it comes to my my guitar speakers. IMHO, these baby's are without a doubt the best sounding speakers I have ever played!

My favorites so far are the G12M's, I just love them.

I knew I should crop that pic! That's my daughter's hand pointing at the power jewel.

I really feel the need to bump this thread up.
To me, speakers were always a very big part of my tonal equation, and man I gotta tell you I have never been so jazzed about ANY piece of gear as I am about these Heritage Greenies.
Every time I play through them I'm in awe.

    Owned a Scumback SA12H-55, and played the SA12H-75 & SA12M-75.
Didn't care for them, and never had the opportunity to directly A/B them with the Heritage Greenies.
    Never tried Alien

This is nice to hear. I have a vintage 4x12 w/greenbacks, and like them better than any other speaker I've tried, on anything. They just sound like "me" somehow.

I've never tried the Heritage Greenbacks, but good to know that I'm not screwed, or out vintage cash, to get that sound without that specific cab. :)

I've tried the 25w Scumbacks and the Aliens....after clobbering all three sets of speakers (Alien, Scumbacks, Heritages) for many hours, I found that I prefer the Heritage 20 watters. The Scums and Aliens were nice, but the Heritages sound much richer in the mids (at least to my ears). If there is any drawback at all to the Heritages, it's that they're rated for just 20 watts each....I would really like to find that tone in a 50w speaker.

Good Lord, that speaker is upside down. Don't you know that they sound better with the label facing up? Geez

Yes, we just launched the Gold (50 watt Alnico) and the G12-65. Both were heard for the firsttime at the LA Amp Show and the reviews were great! I (of course) have those first two Gold's safely stored at the house ready for Friday nights gig!:drool
