Nik @ Ceriatone now builds Matchless DC30 clones.

I know Profklamen received one recently.
People who own this clone, can you please give more info as I'm interested?

Have you A/Bed the Ceriatone DC30 with the real McCoy?

What box do you use - it seems that no box maker has a standard proposition for a Matchless head.

    thanks!

I'm interested in one as well. I've got one of his 18watt-clones; great amp and great workmanship.

Here I am! Yes, I own one. Ordering from Ceriatone was easy and Nik was a pleasure to deal with. The order took about 3-4 weeks (one week longer than originaly stated). However shipping was blazing fast - believe it or not - less than 48 hours from Malaysia to Chicago. I can't get a letter across town that fast.

Anyway, the amp is very well made, first-rate construction and parts. and it looks great too. It is a wonderful sounding amp. I do not have a Matchless to compare it to. I play it through a 4x12 with celestions and it is a sweet sounding amp. I don't have any issues with it.

I'm going to try to attach a few photos of a DC30 clone - not mine, but mine looks just like it.

I don't remember - but I think it was around $100 shipping. Considering the cost of the amp, the overall deal was quite a bargain.

I was curious about the blatant listing of the original amp's name used by the "cloner" until I realized where he's located.

So much for intellectual property rights. ;)

I would love to hear clips of that bad boy! I have recently been bitten by the Matchless bug, but my wallet is not fat enough at the moment

Does anyone know who makes a cab reminiscent of the real McCoy? And Matchless used a Vintage 30 and a Greenback, right? I'm trying to figure out the final cost of the completed amp.

As they are closed (it says temporarily on there site) this may not be an option.

At different times Matchless has used either an H30/Greenback or a V30/Greenback combination. I personally prefer the H30/Greenback mix.

As for cabs, are you talking combo cabs or extension cabs to be used with a head? If you're talking about extension cabs to be used with a head, it may not be the 'real McCoy' but the Avatar Premier Vintage Custom 2x12 is an excellent cab to use with Matchless-style heads... it's an oversize 2x12 just like the Matchless ESD (taller due to the valence panel which gives bigger/deeper bass response), but it's got an angled front baffle like the old bluesbreaker cabs which gives some awesome projection from a 2x12. Just a thought.

I was thinking combo. I can't really fund one of these right now without selling gear but I'm considering it. Thanks for the speaker take too.

BTW if I could afford a real Matchless I would. Ceriatone wouldn't be taking my business from Matchless because I could never pay over 3Gs for an amplifier.
