Other than the fact one is made overseas and the other in the US, (maybe, not sure though), I'm wondering why the big price difference?
I'm talking specifically about heads here.

Has anybody had the opportunity to a/b these amps?

It's tough to evaluate listening to samples on crappy computer speakers but they sound very much alike.

    Tell me what you know!

    thanks

HA! I managed to get all the words but not in the right order....my apologies to the respective builders, if needed.

OK Other Than That, is this comparison worthy of the pepsi challenge, do you see appreciable differences between the two??

As long as you are comparing apples to apples, ie, Dlite 44 to Ceriatone 50. When tuned and tweaked for the specific player, I suspect there is very little difference between the two, the parts and recipe are similar. Build quality seems to be good on both.

However, the Brownnote guys have over a half a dozen variations that they do, covering all flavors. Ceriatone comes in one flavor.

If you want a Skyline non HRM 50, then that is what Ceriatone is. If you want any sort of Bluesmaster, classic circuit, HRM, ODE, or custom power level/tranny set, then the Brownnote guys can do it.

    No way to compare..... See?

Your info is a little outdated Scott.....Ceriatone also has a 100W version and a HRM version now, and Nik will also accomodate most custom alterations that someone may want. He also has the Kleinlator loop buffer (for $120) now. Point is, it's more than one flavor and you can even get sprinkles on top if you want it like that.:AOK

As for direct comparisons, I agree with your assessment that they are similar (even though I suspect you still have not actually heard a Ceriatone;)). Personally I preferred the Ceriatone over the Dlite 33, but I've not heard a 44.

Very cool.... I have not heard any clips yet. When we getting together? I'd love to have some fun!! I bet your Overtone with a 47pf bright cap and my loop/rack, will sound amazing!

Well, thanks Scott and others. If i am reading this right there is no appreciable difference in build quality irrespective of the various flavors. and the Ceriatone is about 1000 less. Hmmm

Yep, I asked this same question several months ago. My OTS came in last week, and I am just waiting for my head cab from gabkits. Total will be about $1350-1400.

    Inconsequential...still not $1,000.

Get it -iron and you'll pay CHEAP shipping. Then buy iron locally.
