I'm going to have to check in again. 3 months ago Nik told me in an email that my name was only about 100 units away from delivery.

I actually preferred the original, non-shiny version which Nik was able to provide...at least while he still had some left a few weeks ago.

I am in the same camp. I have the original matte finish non horsie, and really dig the look over the newer ones. That said it’s all subjective and am glad folks dig the new ones too.

Funny I thought both size and circuit were going to keep the Centura off my board (had another Klone that I loved with my Fender amps but not so much with my new Maz 18), but I was really surprised with how well the Centura worked with my rig as a clean boost (not for volume but just “more” of my tone). I really love it now as a base tone and found a way to reorg my board to make room. Looks pretty smart I think.

I've been looking at a lot of photos of the original Klon enclosure. After doing visual comparisons, the original enclosure seemed to go both ways with the corners being more round or more square.

I've seen some where the old Ceriatone enclosure looked exactly like an original Centaur on the outside.

I wouldn't call the new enclosures "more closer to the original".

Here's an example that I found:

The Centura is massive. An appropriate nickname for it is the Toaster.... the ML Jr and Flint aren't that big. I'm thinking of going down to whatever the next size down of Pedaltrain is below the Jr and could fit the Tumnus, KOT, ML Jr and Flint on there and need nothing else.

Centura (polished) is slightly more squared in that one, the corners aren't beveled as much. I would consider that Klon "squared" though too, but the Centura is slightly more square.

Heard on every of these as a clean boost with a KOT on top...yowzers- it kinda tripped me up as a guy with a quality handmade guitar and amp to hear this guy's extremely average (nothing wrong with it at all sorry if I sound snobby) guitar and amp sound pretty amazing with those 2 boxes.

The Klon circuit has value-added design elements over its predecessors. It's not a DOD clone, for crying out loud. And if you think it's similar to a Distortion+, well, just...wow. The clones do not. I'm not trying to convince people to agree with me about what should be valued and not -- I'm just stating one viewpoint! If you want to buy a cheaper copy, buy a cheaper copy! Someone asked a good question about selling used stuff. My opinion is that the maker collects value on the first sale, and then the object belongs to they purchaser to resell at will. Again, just an opinion.

I think Steve would consent. To both the DIY jab at his "fame" and your sentiment.

you can now buy just the assembled guts for the Centura without the actual enclosure

apparently it is available immediately, without the year long wait.

It is supposed to fit into any Chinese KLONE 1:1 enclosure

Now it's time to find some 1:1 KLONE enclosures on Aliexpress

I'm working on my second Centura...

This one has the variations from the '2207' Silver Horsie. I have an eBay enclosure and all the guts from Ceriatone.
