CERIATONE KITS,,,,cool?????

    who here has built one? do they have instructions are they easy to build are the transformers worth a crap???
    i have seen the matchless dc30 kits and its just hundreds to build one,looks like a good deal and they sound good on youtube..
    i just want some pros and cons from people that have or do use this stuff..

    For the extra cost, Nik's workmanship is IMPECCABLE.

    I haven't built a Ceriatone kit, but it is my understanding that they do not come with detailed instructions. Like most "kits" you get the parts and a layout diagram. The construction sequence is up to you. If you have never built an amp before, I would not recommend the DC30 as it would be quite complicated.

    I have built an Allen kit and these are one of the few kits that guide you step by step along the way with exquisitely detailed instructions.

    i'll say!
    while the ceriatone matchless 'clone' doesn't use the same sort of inherently point to point construction as as a DC30, it is still a formidable mess of components whose lead dress and and ancillary details weigh heavily on the end result.
