I I have a couple of synths and I want to send the tempo for songs by tap tempo so that I can keep things spontaneous during a performance.

The synths are an Access Virus and a Waldorf Blofeld.

I understand that I have to transmit a specific type of message for the synths to register the new tempo. What should that message be?

Also assuming they do not respond to tap tempo, how about if I send them a midi clock transmitted from my master device based on this clock tempo? I have tried this with no luck... what am I doing wrong?

I have tried a variety of things, but for some reason, I am unable to change the tempo of my modules unless I programme it into a patch.

Suggestions and advice would be welcome!

There is no message for tap tempo. A device, a synth, would accept the tap input and adjust it's midi clock accordingly. All devices connected to that synth should be set to receive external midi clock or sync.
