Charcoal frost strats?

The new Am. Std. strats come in this color. Were the originals metallic? or did some come without the sparkley stuff?

I think it's replacing oly white as my favorite strat color. Anyone have any vintage style strats with this color? Seems pretty rare.

I've only ever seen Charcoal Frost in the metallic tint. Not sure if there was a "dull" version.

The one in the pic above is obviously no Am Std. That looks like a vintage or a '60s RI type (more my style). Do you know what it is?

This one is a custom shop 65. The one in the top they said it's a real 65.

I love it too.

The only one I've seen in person was in the early '90s. It was a Clapton Strat. Might've even been a hardtail, I can't remember.
