    ^ Totally awesome.
Is it true that only about 5000 of the old Strat headstocks were built? I read it somewhere

Sorry if this was done to death at the time (I've been out of the loop), but what's the story with this Eddie Van Halen Bumblebee Charvel that was seemingly sold by Live Auctioneers? Is the spiel correct? Did it sell for $67,500?

"Apparently Van Halen personally ordered five guitars made by Charvel/Jackson in April 1982 before the cease and desist order was filed, or Grover Jackson gave the guitars to Van Halen as a peace offering. This instrument was one of those Charvel guitars."

How old? This one's meant to be 1990, but who knows? And 4 grand ain't cheap.

"Rare guitar. Only 4 were made worldwide from this stock of woods. Same wood stock was used with Allan Holdsworth's guitar. Same neck shape as Allan Holdsworth's guitar.

*Basewood body; *wood over 80 years; *ebony fingerboard; *sperzel locking tuners; *Rare allan holdsworth backside pickup that isn't made anymore; *2 klein 59 pickups neck and middle; *John Suhr electronics; *Gotoh Wilkinson bridge

Thanks for the heads up on that. $4000 is kinda steep.

Guitar has been passed around more than a Tai hooker.

Has the Steve Stevens' Glow Charvel been discussed a lot on here?

My sister gave me a ticket for a Billy Idol Whiplash Smile show in Melbourne in August 1987. I wasn't really into Billy, but it was a free ticket, so I went. It turned to be a front row seat, right in front of Steve Stevens.

Before the lights came up, I was trying to see Steve's gear, then *BAM*, out he came, this Hamer endorsee at the time (correct me if I'm wrong), playing a Charvel!! As a young-ish dude, just getting into playing and Charvels, I was shocked and thrilled. :p

I assumed that when it came to a moment that really mattered, he'd rather play a Charvel than a Hamer, even though the latter were paying him. I started telling people around me, but they didn't care. :D

I've read the thread by "Emerald" on the Jackson/Charvel forum. By the way, what is up that joint? I've been a guest on there with no posting privileges for nearly 2 months. Maybe they think my dodgy user name is spam. :p

Thanks- Here's another pic. This is a very interesting Dinky, as it has the ultra-rare Floyd R1 size nut (1 1/2"), so the neck is on the skinner/slimmer side. Very easy to play and a nice worn-in raw feeling neck.
