I will likely never get to sample one because of where I live. Really curious as to the feel and shape of the neck. I know the pups will be awesome!

    I thought Satriani endorsed Ibanez?

    Satchel isn't Satch.

Satchel is the guitar player from Steel Panther

My store told me February/March for a release.

My buddy played it at NAMM and he was impressed.

Weird. I know he's a great player, but I can't imagine buying a signature made for someone who is doing a parody. That's like buying a Nigel Tufnel signature guitar. They are a lot of fun, but it doesn't make sense to me.

I suppose I'm not into any signature models, anyway. Looks like a nice instrument, but just not for me.

He is a monster player, Nigel was not nor could ever be mentioned in the sentence unless of course you have not heard Satchel solo..........pick any solo. That does not make me want the guitar. It looks like a great utility guitar and the pick ups are Fishman classics which are really good with 2 voicing's.

Those 2 aspects make me want it. Also it has a cool Lynch paint job. A guitar I could throw in a gig bag and take to work as well as actually use live!

Here is one of many young shredders who have mastered the art of melting your face with killer guitar playing thanks to Satchel!

If you take the time the listen to this you will notice it's not all flash and mindless super fast playing . It's all very thoughtful and perfect for the song with aspects of shred and tasty legato/staccato licks.

Yeah, after checking this guitar out, I can safely say I will be on the lookout. . . Looks amazing, and Russ is a monster. . .

They should offer it in different colors. If there was a blue version I wouldn't be able to resist...

I get it, but I always thought it was too much a parody/homage to Lynch's guitar, so why not get the original? Again, I'm really not into signature models, so I'm not their target market.

    George Lynch model:

    And Satchel's model:

Tried it at NAMM. If I had to compare it to anything it'd be to one of the EVH stripe guitars, thin and flat. This is a good thing for me since I love the feel of that neck. Non recessed Floyd that's perfect for a D-Tuna. The only questionable choice for me is that they went with a 9v battery for the Fishmans vs the usb charging that the Fluence usually use.

I'm definitely picking one up once they're actually out.
