Any tips on a small decent scale for a fair price.

Will use for:
violin bows, varnish and chemical mixtures, possibly gunpowder.

probably 200 gram max weight needed, but I want it to be accurate under that -- oh yeah -- and cheap!

Thanks for any advice.

You can get a good Postal Scale for $25- 40 on Ebay. Has both scales (Lbs, kg) and goes up to 35-40 Lbs.

You need something that will do 10ths of a gram for that kind of work. You might end up with a good old triple beam balance.

Thanks for the tips guys... just starting to search and dont want to drop c-note if I dont have to...

I have a customer who has been real anal about silver winding weights on bows -- Im well aware f the importance of this, but Ive always been more of a feel guy for these things...

I use a small digital scale from Harbor Frieght for mixing paints and epoxies. It has a capacity of 1000 grams and will tare out and switch from grams to oz, lbs, or grains. It cost less than $20 and is absolutely accurate.
