So I'm using the Voodoo labs which works great. I'm curious though what a good inexpensive single supply would be. You know, just a wall wart. My brother just has two pedals so it doesn't make sense to for him to get a whole system just yet.

For two pedals, I'd get a Onespot. Then you can get a Godlyke splitter which turns one 9v plug into two. That way you don't have to get the 5 or 8 plug daisy chain and have all that extra cable mess.

Do one-spots work well with fuzzfaces?

If it's a 9v it should be good to go!

Even if it's not, you can get an adapter for the 9v battery.

They certainly work. The matter of whether they sound good or not is another discussion entirely. Fuzzes tend to like batteries better but due to convenience factors in the recent decade or two, 9v adapters have been incorporated in many fuzz pedals. They also prefer NOT to be daisy chained...so if you are hoping to run a fuzz face in a daisy chain, you may have some noise issues. If you do plan on running a fuzz face off of a wall wart, it's best for it to have its own.

I mostly meant since the 1-spots are switched PSUs (no AC transformer)
    In comparison to transformer-based PSUs

I know about the PSU vs Battery thing though ;)
