Looking for another mid-gain head. I sold a Marshall DSL50 and I'm in the process of selling a Mesa Rectoverb 50. I dug both amps but just looking to try other stuff.

I recently got a Budda SD30 head which I'm really digging and want to try other semi-under the radar stuff that are good values. Looking to spend about $600-800. I'd love to find a high gain 6L6 head for that. Really like mid-gain Billy Gibbons to Matthew Sweet to Son Volt stuff.

Looking at Zinky, Fender Prosonic, 3rd Power. What else should I consider? I'm in that hard space where I really like the bigness of sound that 50 watts bring but need a really good master volume to bring the volume down. (I don't want to have to bring an attenuator to gigs).

And now for something completely different!

I recently picked up a VHT Pitbull 50CL and it's knocking my socks off! I've seen similar ones on reverb in your price range. It seriously blows me away every time that I play through her, and that's at least a couple of times a day! I never imagined that a VHT Pitbull would be so versatile, from clean to mean and everything in between!

The 50/CL is a big-time hidden gem. Monstrous amp, unbelievably versatile, fantastic feel.

Too true! People talk about VHT's being stiff and unforgiving, but that hasn't been my experience at all! I get some juicy tones out of mine!
