My good buddy Max sent down for me to put through her paces, a new guitar he is building under his name. It's kind of a cross between a Les Paul Special and a Les Paul Standard. It's got a carved maple top, but no binding. It's got dot markers instead of the usual trapezoids, and its slightly thinner than a Les Paul Standard. He used 80 year old mahogany on this beauty, and the sound is unbelievable.:dude

Quality, tone and beauty sure wouldn't be an issue with his guitars. What pickups and most importantly, price??:)

Built-in body binding--thick maple top, very nice! ...but no fricking pickguard (just kidding).

Just what I was wondering. Is it indeed THE elusive, mysterious, and in some cases legendary Max? Are you certain? If so, what's he charge for somethin like that?

Charlie, isn't he asking for trouble using the LP body shape, or is this a one-off?

The body shape is not exact. It's slightly thinner than a Les Paul. It's really no more similar than a Huber. Also, look at the headstock shape closely, especially the top. It's not the same as a Les Paul!:)

That is an amazing guitar looks-wise and I bet it plays and sounds amazing. I have wanted a few Max guitars for a long time. Hope this is the start of something new. P.M. sent too.
