Adam Lambert from this seasons American Idol. What a turbo piped effin' monster. Can't wait to hear him soar through Journey and Heart tunes like a blowtorch in a plastic bag. Already one of the top seeds in every poll and board.

    ps
thats a double A that he hits

    Great vocalist.

Couldn't stand the performance as a whole though... overdone, the vocals felt really forced.

I hadn't read the American Idol part. Sorry.

    Vocalist had good range though.

Sorry as if I came across like I was dumping on your thread, not what I intended.

it's 'aight...any reply is as good as a bump.
I'd love to see this guy win the whole thing, sell 15 million copies of an old school high octane rock record and bring it all back for us rockers here

I agree, but the environment isn't there for it.

I'd love for another real rock and roll band, but it's not what's popular.

We'll continued to be showered with top 40 material.

At least back in the day, top 40 wasn't so bad.

Without highjacking the thread, can I suggest a counteract to this statement?

    Derek. Trucks. Band.

That's about it though besides a few great singer songwriters (Ray Lamontagne, etc).

It'd be cool to see a rocker win Idol but I haven't watched it since good ol' Taylor Hicks won! I'd love to hear some more from him...

Kids today listen to tons of classic rock. Zep, Beatles, Aerosmith, Stones...eventually a band will come along of that quality and potentially reignite the whole genre.

    That's true.

Ray LaMontagne and DTB are two exceptions I can think of.

I guess I'm a little more pessimistic. I live in "Da Bay" California.
Not Rock & Roll city, anymore at least. Just shoot 'em up gangsters.

Disclaimer: No I don't hate hip hop, alot of the eighties early nineties stuff is actually cool.

As long as you don't mind negative comment's I gotta say I expect to see this type of stuff at a Vegas drink minimum show where the hired talent troop would probably do just as good as these guys..this stuff is just creepy. It could all go away tomorrow and we'd all be better off. They could fill the void with a new "Midnight Special" or "Gunsmoke" type of show instead.

So funny, I went to high school with him. I have some videos around of us in some theater productions together.

For a mindset to enjoy this, think bubble gum, roller coasters and ice cream... not vintage wine, museums and 4 star restaurants.

If you turn the sound of you can envision them singing It's Raining Men......

Great pipes though. He can sing! I forecast top 5 for him.

Turbo piped effin' monster is about right. The Zodiac show was not my thing, but Adam Lambert can really wail. I think he's the best pure vocalist on Idol this year. His style is kind of polarizing, so it will be interesting to see how far he goes.
