I won $10 about 30 years ago off a guy who was insisting (during Spring training, before the season had even begun) that year the Cubs and Sox would be in a subway World Series.

Would it be cool from a Cubs fan POV to face the ChiSox? Finally get there and it's like you're playing a regional?

i'd rather at least one warm-weather team. the rainouts and cold are tiresome.

that's why I think the season is too dang long. the playoffs should start by labor day and the WS over with by first week in Oct.

on the other end of the spectrum 4/1 starts are too cold as well. season should start like 4/25

It's a long season...they're both riding high right now...couple of injuries and/or tired arms....could be a lot different in a few months.

I haven't really tuned into the White Sox yet, I see they're off to a great start. Does anyone expect the Royals to stay around .500 though?

The Cubs have a very solid team as they did last year and I think will contend all season long. Plus I'm Joe Maddon fan.

As far as actually getting to the WS, that's of course pretty hard to predict for any team, even at the start of the playoffs, let alone in early May.

I think Chicago would burn to the ground.

Although I'm not sure if the winning team's fans or losing team's fans would do more damage.

    No, it wouldn't.

Cubbies I'd be fine with. The Southsiders are welcome to sit out the postseason.

I am cautiously optimistic about the Cubs this season. I've had my heart broken too many times by them to get too excited.

I'm shocked the White Sox are doing so well. I think everybody is. My theory is that they are doing so well because that annoying kid isn't hanging around practices & the locker room any more.

Chisox will choke and be a laughing stock by late August. Seriously. You can PUT IT ON THE BOOOOOOOOAAARD! YES! They'll suck.

    Cubs will rule the roost.

    Met fan here...

The Chicago Cubs scare me. They're a young team with an awesome manager. I was shocked we swept them in the playoffs last year. However, this year the younglings have playoff experience. They are the team to beat.

As a life long Cubs fan, I'm very excited about this season, and very happy how it's going so far. I personally don't care who the other team in the WS is going to be, Cubbies are still taking it :beer

I'm not ruling out the Cardinals, although they're coming out of the gate like the Cubs of yore. Why in the HELL did we trade Lackey?

The chances of this happening are much greater than a San Diego team winning a title or championship in any major sport.
