I'm looking at bunch of lower wattage smaller amps to replace my Fender Pro Series Twin Amp. Thought I'd gather a consensus. I play rock (Foo Fighters, AIC), blues, and play in a praise band. Please comment away. Looks like $750 is my budget.

peavey delta blues that I played had a channel isolation problem, that was a year ago, they had the problem several years ago as well. really would stay away from them.

I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, their now $700, used to be $600 last year, anyway the HRDx, three channels, 40 watts, really love mine, good clean channel, and really easy to carry around.

    I'd suggest Marshall or Fender.

Those new Vox AC15's (or CC's?) would do the trick if you can't afford a Tophat at the moment...

I'd also check out the Crate V33-212 and the Peavey Classic 30-112 Also why not look at one of the new Bugera combo's. A lot of folks are saying they are great amps, at a very good price point.

Dr Z Mini or Carmen Ghia.....great tone, quality hand made point-to-point and good resale value. You can save lots of money buying used. The cost of the head will eat up most of your budget so you will need a cabinet with speaker.

You know, there's a million threads on lower wattage amps, and there's a group of the "usual suspects" that you might want to look into:

    Fender Blues Jr.
    Fender Pro Jr.
    SF Fender Deluxe Reverb
Deluxe Reverb II (I know where there's one for $650, just gone over and sounding great)
    Vox AC15CC
    Traynor (new or vintage)
    Crate Vintage Club etc
Peavey (might look into the other ones besides the Delta Blues)
Lots of other EL84 based amps that'll come in under your price ceiling used, you just have to start keeping an eye open and trying them out. A Rectover would be perfect, except you won't find one for less than $750 and it's NOT lighter than the twin). You could get a Sansamp PSA1 preamp and Mesa 50/50 power amp for less than that and get a good sound that way.
