    Edit:
It is now almost 5 years later... Was pokin' in the archives a bit and stumbled into this

K... jus' for fun I whipped this up today
This is what I could remember of Chris Isaak's haunting "Wicked Game"

I went for a chimey tone here, and changed pickup selection a bit

This is my new alder/lacewood Strat with Area 58 neck and middle and DP414 (rounder almost P-90 tone) in the bridge into my old Vibrolux with Weber alnico and ceramic.
A touch of compression and some delay were used.

(The moderator asked that I mention that I am a Dimarzio endorser. pretty sure the tone speaks for itself)

Very nice, relaxing music. Loved the tone, there's some clipping sometimes though. Great job!

    LOL thx bud :)

Yea I was going for a very glassy pingy kinna tone here.
I'm really getting off on these pups
The 414 is a less bright, rounder bridge pup with some testosterone

Re the Jensens, I don't really like the new stuff that I have heard for the most part. Perhaps their alnico is nice...I'm a big fan of Weber VST stuff.

    I really like 1 alnico and 1 ceramic in the 2 10" Vibrolux :)

is the 414 still a noisless Dmarzio PU?- would i have to buy a set of 3 then
    buy the 414 on top?

--my amp was bust so when it went in-i thought it'd be a convinient
way of tryin the Jensesn--I know the Weber stuff is ace--BUT totally confusing-

sorry to bug ya on this-but can you tell me how/which webers you have in case I need to order them soon?

    cheers

    Sure,
    It's a 10A150 and 10F150

re the pup's you can mix all ya want. my favorite is by far the Area '58 neck, middle and 414 bridge. Yes the 414 is also hum cancelling. I usually prefer a warmer bridge pickup but, I also like the Area '61 in the bridge for the standard vintage strat vibe.

    Nice job, Harry!

I just popped a new VV Solo Pro(DP414) in the rear of one of my Strats yesterday. Preliminary indications are positive. This pickup has a lively, almost acoustic character.

I like the way I can yank on some double stops on the plain strings and it's pretty forgiving. Must be the AlNiCo2 polepieces...

Brought the hint tears to my eyes (that funny twinge in the nose, too). This tune is magic; you capture the vibe beautifully.

Hi Harry ! With the 414 and Area 58, does the position 2 (lead + middle) still quack please ?

Your rendition sounds lovely. I've got the original on my iPod, so spooky and beautiful.
