Alright, so since I didn't get a Christmas amp this year I figured I'd live vicariously though my TGP friends. If you got an amp for Christmas this year I wanna see em!

Here's the one I gave my grandson: Pignose G40V, with an Eminence Rajin' Cajun 10" speaker, Weber Beam Blocker, middle pre tube changed out for a 12AU7, and a Danelectro reverb stomp box with a pair of good guitar cords.

WOW! Nice score all the way around. Did you pick up that amp in the Houston area? I saw a few for sale on CL and considered picking one up as I had read that they are (basically) Bassman circuits.

No amps for me either. I did get an inexpensive Line 6 wireless though. Works pretty darn good. Bob

'77 Vibrolux Reverb... Crazy clean with everything... cover, manual, warranty card, footswitch, stock tubes, alnico 10's and even the power cable hang tag.

No, I bought it new around 2004 and modified it. It has great tone, if a little limited, and it can get squawky if you let it (the WBB helps). I really liked the sound of my mini-SD equipped Les Paul Deluxe through it, but I have three Fender amps, a Silvertone 1484 and a good bass amp, and my grandson had none -- so off it went.

The standard speaker is crap: when I took my Pig out of the box and plugged in a guitar, the speaker rattled on the first note. The Eminence Rajin' Cajun is a quality replacement, but adds some weight to the amp as it has a much heftier magnet. I also tossed the power tubes and installed Sovtek 6L6s -- the Chinese tubes are notoriously low quality.

Overall I had maybe $350 invested, and it was (is) a cool little amp, with the capability (40w) of driving a larger cab.

Very nice rig. Do you like the Ghia better than the Hayseed 30? What kind of speakers are in the Fuchs cab?

It's mighty loud! It's mighty heavy! And it's mine.... :)

A near-mint condition Peavey VTX Heritage from 1985.

Scored for $200 on CL. I've been experimenting with the settings and running various pedals through it. Will start a new thread later focused on New Amp Day activities.

There are two reactions when I show it to players:

    "What's that?" (young guys)
    and
"I used to have one just like that!" (old guys like me):D
