CL ad, since when is this the definition of light/tasteful relic?

Compared to some, that definitely counts as a light relic job. :D "Tasteful" is another matter entirely.

I'm half tempted to reply to ads like this, asking $300 off the price, since it needs refinishing, just to see what they say.

What's wrong with an Air Norton? I know it's more typically found in shred guitars, but it might be alright in a Les Paul.

Go put an air norton in a les paul and get back to me.

Trust me, I've done it.
Actually, the more I think about it...I believe you. I have one in the neck of an Ibby RG, and it's a slightly bassy for my tastes there, so it would probably be mud city in a Les Paul. Is that what you're saying?

Let me just say that config would sound muddy even if you were using a JCM800 through a 1x8 cab.

One would have to be a monster strummer to get that effect. Why do people do this, leave it for the pros.
