I just picked up a Marshall 1959HW with "Jose Mod" by VooDoo Amps. When you think "Marshall Mod", you usually think high gain, and while it can do that, I think it really shines doing the Classic Rock type crunch. I did this clip with a Strat with a humbucker. With a Les Paul, I think It'd be even more authentic. It's got that bitey "kerrang" though. And a beefy lowend, I think. What do y'all think?

I like that sound, but it still sounded fairly hi-gain to me. What volume did you record at?

Thanks for checking it out, guys. McGriff, "High Gain"? Not by my standards. I'd say that's the level of crunch you'd get with a Marshall NMV Lead amp on about 6. This mod just gives you a little more bite and harmonic content. The master was on 1 and that's as loud as it needed to get to sound full through a pair of Greenbacks.
