Clean Your Pot

My 35 year old SS Peavey has scratchy pots. Still sounds good when I'm playing but I'm worried about dependability. How do you clean pots?

Thanks,

i picked up an old mesa triple rec (2 channel) head really cheap a while back.. all the pots were scracthy and the inside of the amp was filled with dust.. i picked up some contact cleaner with lubricant in a can from my local audio store. gave each pot a spray and turned them back and forth several times.. worked like a charm..

I've had success with contact cleaner. It takes some work, though.

I've used contact cleaner and it may be better for a while, but the pot eventually becomes scratchy again just like before. Buying a new pot is actually cheaper than buying the can of cleaner usually and the problem is solved.
