Just got a Way Huge Green Rhino from a new member here (Lostinthefog - good guy!)

Anyway, is this one of the best Tubescreamers out there? Sound great! Bass control? Upper mid/high frequency roll off or on? And again, it sounds great!
I had a peek under the hood, all metal film resistors and AVX poly caps. I love it. The GR going into my Red Llama can totally cover 2 different overdrive sounds and, when stacked, easily gets into high gain metal.

Green Rhino FTW!!!11!

Also, this leads to me to my next 2 points

a) Reissue the Purple Platypus!!

and

It's amazing one of my top 10. I too have it mated with a red llama, plus a mn3005 loaded aqua puss and vintage small clone on my nano board for my no fuss days. It's great maybe even top 5. Best ts made imo.

I have never tried it, but I've been in the market for a TS type pedal, and will certainly give it a look-see

I did not dig the reissue of the Pickle much, lots of control over the sound, but no sounds I liked, and I'm a big big muff fan

but I keep hearing good things about other Way Huge stuff!

I love Green Rhino, and Red Llama too. However, it's hard to say about it as "best TS". It has a nice features. But basic overdrive structure is slightly different, then others. It's more "fuzzy" and gainy, then typical TS. It has a great price and features, but it make sence, if you like it's basic sound.

Anyone compare this & the VFE The Scream? - I am in the market for a new TS type since my Fulldrive died.

It is a wonderful sounding and versatile TS, also very well made and super accessable price even new. I wouldnt call it the best but it certainly deserves anyones consideration.

One of the best tube screamers for sure. Personally though, I like the Maxon OD808 a little better.

I have the GR on my board and I really do like it. I bought a TS808 a couple months back and took it back the next day. Didn't sound as good to me as the Rhino did. And the Rhino is alot cheaper.

i think the green rhino is the best TS that ive tried if youre going to turn the gain up at all... if youre gonna do the level up, drive down deal, i like the maxon od9 the best...

I'm in this camp...

I had a green rhino for a while. Wide range of tones - lots of options.

The OD808 just gives me what I need and keeps me from tweaking to find something slightly better in an OCD-ish manner (not the pedal).

It has a "woody" tone to it that I associate with Mike Campbell from the Heartbreakers sound. The new Way Huge stuff is great if you know what you're using it for. Once you tweak your sounds a pedalboard can fit like a glove.

Just had rehearsal. The Green Rhino is amazing! Thick, warm and organi, super creamy, a dream to play leads on! However, it is a touch noisy into my gain channel but it could be becasue it has a lot of gain and I use it on my gain channel on my Bogner. noisy and the Volume and Gain knob do not stay still when on my pedal board, any vibrations cause them to move around! :( I guess I will have to tape them down which sucks for on the fly changes.

I use the Green Rhino like this. On some songs I roll down my guitar volume to clean it up a bit and play with less gain. Problem is, this is great for rhythm, but when I get to a solo, I need more gain and mids. That is where the Rhino comes in to kick in for solos. And, man, does it sound and feel great! Nice pedal. One of the best I have owned.

One complaint other than runaway knobs is I can't run any knob past noon cause of the noise.
I also have no idea what the Curve knob does. I don't hear any change with it up or down.

The best tube screamer I have used to date.
