I’m a Collings guy 100%, own 3 atm, and I wouldn’t necessarily expect this guitar to sound like a Gretch. I have a Soco semi hollow with a bigsby and Lollartrons, and I use it for jazz and blues. The pickups are beautifully voiced, a little brighter than their HBs, but not really like tv Jones or filtertrons - much more versatile. So maybe with Ron Ellis on board the voice of the guitar isn’t so predictable.

I can tell you it will play like a dream.

If it can be had without a bigsby and it has a 50s style neck carve, I’m interested.

Isn’t that an ebony fretboard? I hope so.

Are those Ellis pickups Dynasonics? I’ve been wanting a fat neck Gretsch styled guitar so if Collings makes something like a Soco with those I might be in trouble.
