Im going to order a Collings 290s
Single cut, single PU, wraparound bridge, no tunamatic.
I see on the options page- http://www.collingsguitars.com/Instruments/?ID=73
It's a tone pros wraparound, or a Collings custom wraparound.
Do you know anything about the 'custom wraparound bridge'?
    Thanks!

I've been eyeing the Collings 290 model myself, and have been curious about this - why are there two options? Is there an appreciable difference in the intonation of the wrap-around vs the tune-o-matic bridge? Or another appreciable difference, aside from aesthetics? Collings makes such amazing instruments, and puts so much thought and care into each instrument, that I'm sure they have a very good reason for offering both options, but it's not clear to me what that is.

I've had 290 DCS' with both bridges. It seemed t me the wraparound bridge was much more of a typical "Jr" type tone. Very raw and big sounding, whereas the TOM was a bit more refined and subtle, more polite.

It would be wraparound for me every time with P90s...

There something more immediate feeling about it...maybe purely psychological!

I definitely want the wraparound. What I'm confused about is on their options page, it offers 'tone Pros, And the 'custom Collings.

Which one comes stock on the guitar??

I ordered a custom 290DC a couple of months ago. At the time I asked my dealer the same thing about the 2 bridges, he asked Collings and the answer was that they had offered the TonePros bridge before they came up with their own. For a wrap tail it seemed like the Collings was the one to go with, maybe they just haven't updated the web site.

Also went with Throbak P90 specials, the videos of them in a LP on the Throbak site are amazing.

Yes, I emailed Collings and told me the tone pros was discontinued on the wraparound, but still use them for the tunamatic.
I went with the Lollar P-90, figuring I could change out the PU later.
